Tashan was another popular Movie to be shot in Alleppey. Although the movie did not run well at box office, what is impressive is the scenic views from all over. The scene which Akshay Kumar Proposes Kareena was shot in a houseboat in Alleppey. One such location was the favorite of all Alleppey which was partially shot, small but a heart -warming location indeed!
3. Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa(Tamil)
A Tamil blockbuster, this movie was shot in Alleppey with a typical religion difference backdrop. Here the hero follows the heroine all the way to Alleppey to get his message conveyed. With an enchanting music delivery by A.R.Rahman the movie does blooms with a strong climax, beaming backwaters of Alleppey & the warming music.
4. Ek Deewana Tha(Bollywood)
Again, this was a remake of the movie Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, the direction had a slight difference although much of Alleppey was shot in a very good frame. The dramatic scenes, church wedding, beach backdrop was something to ask for. This remake was for Bollywood & the Alleppey atmosphere was kept live all throughout.
A horror Bollywood flick, starring Bipasha Basu & Karan Singh Grover, the story takes a thrilling turn in Alleppey. Majority of the film has been shot in Alleppey where Bipasha Basu had even tweeted that she indeed loves the backwaters here. 6. Autograph (Tamil)
This romantic journey is truly a treat to watch out for. Here the boy goes off on his spree of sending out invitations to his friends & family personally for his very own wedding. He comes across a series of his love affairs which are beautifully shot over Kerala.
